Yvoire is a medieval village located on the shores of the Lake of Geneva, in the French department of Haute-Savoie. Across the centuries, the village was fortified and played an important military role thanks to its strategic location between the “small lake” and “big lake”.
It is remarkably preserved and has been a part of the French association “Most beautiful villages of France” for more than 30 years. It has also been awarded many prizes in the national flower contests.
In Yvoire, you can visit the Five senses garden: aromatic plants, fruit trees, ancient roses, aviaries and fountains. This garden was awarded the label “Remarkable Garden”. Inspired by the Middle Ages, it is transformed for every season. Thematic visits, and animations for children are held regularly.
From Nyon or from Geneva, cruises on the lake are organized by the CGN (Geneva Company for Navigation), to visit Yvoire.
